The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested two teenagers for allegedly burgling shops in the Inawole area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Abioro Taofeeq, 16, a trainee welder from Ago-Igbe, and Monday Ogundele, 15, also a trainee welder from Idobarun, were arrested on September 4, 2026, following an investigation into a complaint of burglary.
The State Commander of the corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi. Ganzallo said the investigation commenced after a 37-year-old trader, Mrs Julius Deborah, reported on June 20 that her shop in Inawole had been broken into and valuables stolen.
Following the complaint, the Ado-Odo Igbesa Area Commander, Assistant Commander Kehinde Oluti, directed the Officer-in-Charge of Anti-Robbery, Superintendent Ajayi Rotimi, to deploy operatives from the Anti-Robbery and Intelligence Units to investigate the incident.
According to the statement, preliminary interrogation of the suspects led to their alleged confession to involvement in the burglaries. The teenagers reportedly told investigators that they were not acting alone, alleging that a third suspect, identified only as “T-Boy,” was also involved and is currently at large.
The suspects further allegedly disclosed that two shops had been burgled on five different occasions, with items including mobile phones, cash, Bluetooth devices, clothes, power banks and other valuables reportedly stolen.
Ganzallo said the suspects and recovered items had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ado-Odo Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
He assured residents that the corps would continue to work with the police, other security agencies and communities to prevent crime and protect lives and property across Ogun State.
