The Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of Otunba Olufemi Soluade, has congratulated Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal on his emergence and recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The party also congratulated some of its authentic federal legislative and House of Assembly candidates whose names have been published by INEC, urging those whose names are yet to appear to remain calm and confident. The state leadership said the process concerning the substantive deputy governorship candidate would be communicated in due course.
Soluade said the party was confident that the High Court judgment recognising Lawal as the ADC governorship candidate would be enforced, paving the way for INEC to recognise other authentic federal and state legislative candidates who emerged through duly conducted primaries. He assured the affected candidates that the party would continue to pursue every legitimate avenue to protect their mandates and ensure that the rule of law prevailed.
The ADC leadership, however, called for calm, reconciliation and unity among its leaders, members, candidates and supporters, stressing that internal cohesion remained essential to the party’s success in 2027. “Together, we remain stronger. Together, we move forward,” the statement signed by Otunba Dr. Olufemi Soluade, State Chairman, ADC Ogun State Chapter, through the Directorate of Media Communications and Publicity, stated.
