The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 42-year-old farmer, identified as Ganiu Agbajo, over the alleged defilement of a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was arrested on September 7, 2026, following a report from members of the community. According to an eyewitness, the girl, whose name was withheld, reportedly returned home crying and told her mother that she had been sexually assaulted by a man, prompting the community to alert the security agency.
Agbajo was subsequently apprehended at his residence in Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia. During preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to the offence and told investigators that the incident occurred on his farm at Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.
The State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, commended residents for promptly reporting the incident and urged members of the public to continue to report suspicious and criminal activities to the agency to enable appropriate action.
