Pregnant Woman, Accomplice Arrested Over Alleged Ogun House Break-In

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a pregnant woman, Taiwo Sholagbemi, and an alleged accomplice, Ibrahim Mohammed, popularly known as “Dongo”, over a suspected house break-in at Crown Estate, Ajibode, Ogun State.

The State Commander, So-Safe Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi. According to the statement, the incident occurred at about 9:30am on September 7, 2026, after residents alerted the Tigbo/Ijako/Isorosi Area Command that a pregnant woman had allegedly been found inside a resident’s house before fleeing the scene. The Area Commander, ACC Nureni Alimi, subsequently mobilised his officers, who, with the support of residents, launched a search of the surrounding communities and eventually arrested the suspect while she attempted to escape from her hiding place.

During preliminary interrogation, Sholagbemi allegedly confessed to acting as an informant for two men from the northern part of the country. She claimed that she met “Dongo”, whose real name she later learnt was Ibrahim Mohammed, while begging for alms at Sango and was offered financial assistance on the condition that she provided information about houses targeted for operations. She alleged that members of the syndicate usually supplied her with master keys and arranged motorcycle transportation from Joju to targeted locations, adding that the Crown Estate operation was her third involvement with the group. The suspect was subsequently used as bait by undercover operatives, leading to Mohammed’s arrest at Joju, while a third suspect remains at large.

Mohammed, however, denied giving Sholagbemi any keys or directing her to break into the house, claiming that he deals in scrap materials and only met her about a month earlier when she allegedly sold a generator to him for ₦41,000. Both suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution. Ganzallo assured residents that the matter would be investigated thoroughly in accordance with the law and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
