Three suspects have been remanded in a correctional facility following their arraignment in connection with the alleged murder of Madam Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, in Agodo Village, Kobape, Abeokuta.
The Ogun State Police Command on Monday, July 6, 2026, presented the defendants before Magistrate Court 3, Isabo, Abeokuta, over the June 20, 2026, incident.
The defendants, Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip (22), Abduraheem Sakirudeen (27), and Sobur Obafunso (30), appeared before the court as the police continue efforts to secure justice in the case. The alleged killings have generated significant public interest across Ogun State.
At the hearing, the prosecution filed an ex parte motion requesting that the suspects be remanded pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The Magistrate granted the application, ordering that the three defendants remain in custody for 60 days while the DPP reviews the case file.
The court subsequently adjourned the matter until September 7, 2026, for further proceedings. The remand order marks another step in the judicial process as authorities continue preparations for the prosecution of the case.
