OGUN SECURITY CHIEFS STORM BORDER COMMUNITIES IN MASSIVE JOINT OPERATION, STRENGTHEN SAFETY ALONG OGUN–ONDO CORRIDOR

In a strategic demonstration of government’s unwavering commitment to public safety, the Ogun State Police Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies and key government stakeholders, has conducted a high-level joint operational assessment and show of force across the Ogun–Ondo border corridor. The operation, which covered Itele-Ijebu, Atoyo, Agerige, Ogbere, Ibiade, Iwopin, Abigi and terminated at Ajebandele on the Ogun–Ondo boundary, is aimed at consolidating the successes of Operation Kosaye, reinforcing security dominance, and strengthening measures against criminal activities across the Ogun Waterside axis and adjoining communities.

The security exercise was led by the Security Consultant to the Ogun State Governor, CP Edward Ajogun (Rtd.), alongside the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, and featured the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General J.O. Onu; the Director, Department of State Services (DSS), Ogun State Command, Director R.A. Adelakun, fsi+; the Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo; the Commander of the Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun Corps), Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (Rtd.); the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo; as well as the Executive Chairmen of Ijebu East, Ijebu North East and Ogun Waterside Local Government Areas.

 The comprehensive assessment focused on evaluating operational readiness, identifying vulnerable locations, reviewing security deployments, assessing terrain dynamics, and strengthening intelligence-driven, inter-agency collaboration to enhance security effectiveness across the corridor.

The coordinated show of force underscored the preparedness, operational capability and collective resolve of the security agencies to safeguard lives and property, reassure residents and commuters, and maintain sustained surveillance along the strategic border route. It also reaffirmed the government's determination to deny criminal elements any operational space through continuous joint patrols, proactive intelligence gathering, rapid response mechanisms, and stronger community engagement in support of crime prevention and public safety.

Speaking at the conclusion of the exercise, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the exceptional synergy among all participating security agencies, government officials and community stakeholders, describing their collaboration as critical to sustaining peace and security across the state. He reiterated the Command's commitment to strengthening intelligence sharing, leveraging modern policing technology, and expanding joint security operations to address emerging threats. 

The Commissioner also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely, credible and actionable information to security agencies, emphasizing that effective security remains a shared responsibility between law enforcement and the public.
