Ogun Non-Indigenes Congratulate Yayi on APC Governorship Adoption, Hail Party Leadership’s Decision

The Association of Non-Indigenes Resident in Ogun State has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola following his official adoption by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party’s governorship candidate for Ogun State.

In a statement issued by the association’s leadership, President Sariki Inuwa Garba, Sariki Hausawa of Sagamu; Vice President, High Chief Richard Osuagwu, former General Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ogun State; General Secretary, Evangelist Tom Okhumoya; and Financial Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Hassan, Sariki Hausawa of Egbaland, described the party’s decision as a welcome development and a significant step toward the continued political and socio-economic advancement of Ogun State.

The association praised the APC leadership for what it called a thoughtful and strategic choice, noting that Senator Adeola’s track record in public service, legislative excellence and grassroots development makes him well-suited for the task ahead. It described his adoption as a momentous occasion that signals renewed hope, unity and progress for residents of the state.

According to the group, Senator Adeola’s longstanding connection to Ogun State, his inclusive leadership style and his commitment to community development have earned him broad support across diverse ethnic and social groups. The association added that his emergence reflects the aspirations of many residents who desire visionary and people-oriented governance.

Drawing comparisons with politically diverse states such as Lagos State and Kaduna State, where party leadership decisions have often shaped stable political transitions and strengthened inclusive governance, the group noted that Ogun could witness similar political consolidation through broad stakeholder support.

Sariki Inuwa Garba urged residents, political stakeholders and community leaders to support the APC’s choice, emphasizing that unity and collaboration remain vital for the state’s future development.

The association concluded by offering prayers for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Senator Adeola as he prepares for the governorship race.

Senator Adeola, popularly known as “Yayi,” has continued to receive congratulatory messages and commendations from political leaders, traditional rulers and grassroots supporters across Ogun State, further underscoring the significance of his emergence as the APC flagbearer.
