The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, on Saturday joined the Nigerian Navy in a five-kilometre route march in Abeokuta as part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, improve operational readiness and promote physical fitness among security personnel.
The exercise, organised by the Nigerian Navy as its second quarter route march, commenced from Adigbe and passed through Onikolobo, Panseke, Ibara and Omida before returning to Adigbe. The event attracted personnel from various security agencies who participated in the endurance exercise.
Officials said the route march was conducted in a coordinated and disciplined manner, showcasing the professionalism of participating agencies.
They noted that beyond improving physical fitness, the exercise also enhanced teamwork, endurance, camaraderie and synergy among security outfits in Ogun State.
Speaking after the exercise, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, commended the Nigerian Navy for organising the initiative. He reaffirmed the command's commitment to sustaining effective collaboration with sister security agencies in promoting public safety, security and national development.
The FRSC also expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for the initiative, expressing optimism that continued joint activities among security agencies would further enhance operational effectiveness, improve service delivery and strengthen the collective fight against security challenges across the state.
