The African Democratic Congress has inaugurated a four-man screening committee to assess aspirants seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections in Ogun State.
Nstv reports that the committees is expected to screen aspirants contesting for positions in the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and the Senate as part of preparations for the polls.
Speaking with journalists during the exercise, the Chairman of the screening committee, Kehinde Osinowo, said the party was committed to conducting a transparent and credible process capable of producing competent candidates for the elections.
Osinowo noted that the leadership of the ADC remained determined to uphold internal democracy and ensure that only qualified and credible aspirants emerged through the screening exercise.
Some of the aspirants who participated in the exercise expressed confidence in the party’s screening mechanism, describing the process as transparent, fair, and encouraging.
The committee also disclosed that the national leadership of the party would officially announce the outcome of the screening exercise to members of the party and the general public in the interest of transparency and accountability.
