Easter Message: Ogun Speaker Calls for Unity, Compassion, and Community Progress

:
Abeokuta, Ogun State – As Christians across the world celebrate Easter, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, has urged residents to embrace unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. In a message shared with journalists by his media aide, Kunle Idowu, the Speaker described the season as a time of hope, renewal, and reflection on the virtues of love, humility, and selflessness exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Elemide emphasized that Easter provides a unique opportunity for individuals and communities to renew their faith and commitment to societal harmony, transcending religious, ethnic, and political divides. “This sacred period reminds us that perseverance, faith, and resilience are essential in overcoming life’s challenges and achieving lasting transformation,” he stated.

Reaffirming the House of Assembly’s dedication to the welfare of Ogun residents, the Speaker assured that the legislature remains focused on enacting people-centered laws and policies to support the state’s developmental goals. He encouraged citizens to draw inspiration from the Easter message by extending support to the less privileged and fostering a spirit of fellowship within their communities.

Addressing the youth, Elemide called on them to remain hopeful and channel their energies into productive ventures that contribute to the growth of Ogun State and Nigeria. He also appealed to leaders at all levels to embrace the principles of servant leadership, prioritizing the welfare of the people above personal interests.

Concluding his message, the Speaker commended the resilience and industriousness of Ogun residents, highlighting their role in making the state a hub of excellence and opportunity. He urged families to strengthen bonds, celebrate responsibly, and pray for peace, stability, and continued progress, expressing optimism that the spirit of Easter would inspire renewed hope, courage, and determination among all citizens.
