The Ogun State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, has approved a series of significant infrastructural developments and traditional leadership appointments aimed at fostering economic growth and strengthening governance throughout the state.
In a meeting held on Friday at the Executive Chamber, the Council greenlit the rehabilitation and construction of seven major roads across Ogun’s three senatorial districts.
The approved projects are expected to enhance connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and stimulate socio-economic activities in both urban and rural communities. Notable roadworks include improvements on the Molipa Expressway Roundabout to Ibadan Garage, as well as key routes in Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, and Abeokuta.
In addition to road projects, the Council approved the reconstruction and completion of the Block E Office Complex within the State Secretariat in Oke Imosan, Abeokuta. Renamed the "Revenue House," the upgraded facility will serve as a hub for strengthening revenue generation and improving the efficiency of public services. This initiative is part of the administration’s broader effort to modernize state infrastructure and boost Ogun’s internally generated revenue.
As part of its commitment to preserving traditional institutions, the Ogun State Executive Council also confirmed several traditional leadership appointments. These appointments, which span across different local government areas, are aimed at reinforcing grassroots governance and enhancing security and community development. Notable appointments include the Nloku of Iraye and the Baale of Orile Oko, among others.
Governor Abiodun’s administration continues to prioritize initiatives that support sustainable development, with an emphasis on improving infrastructure, strengthening governance, and preserving cultural heritage in Ogun State.
