The Yayi Worldwide Support Initiative (YWSI) has provided financial assistance to 23 patients receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ilaro, as part of its humanitarian intervention and community support activities in Ogun State.
The outreach, held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, was organised under the initiative’s “Serve, Support, Empower” programme. The beneficiaries, who were receiving treatment for various health conditions, were given cash assistance to help offset medical bills, medication and other healthcare expenses
Among those who benefited were patients undergoing treatment for diabetes, complications from sickle cell, miscarriage, fibroid, injuries sustained from accidents, Caesarean-section-related conditions, appendicitis, gastroenteritis, malaria, and bone fractures. The organisers said the beneficiaries appreciated the intervention and expressed gratitude to the group for coming to their aid.
Speaking by telephone, the Chairman of YWSI, Mr. Oluwatosin Thompson, popularly known as King Autos and based in California, United States, said the initiative was established to support needy and vulnerable members of society. Thompson said the Ilaro intervention was inspired partly by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s humanitarian activities, adding that the group’s programme would be extended to other communities. He listed General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode and General Hospital, Abeokuta, as some of the facilities being considered for subsequent outreaches, alongside motherless babies’ homes, indigent students and other vulnerable groups.
The General Secretary of YWSI, Imisioluwa Justina, said the initiative would continue to monitor the beneficiaries and provide further support where possible. The hospital management, represented by Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Adeleye A. Emmanuel, Confidential Secretary Mrs. Ajibola Reginal and Assistant Director of Nursing Services Mrs. Idiat Akintola, appreciated the group for supporting patients. The outreach was attended by YWSI delegates and volunteers from Nigeria and the diaspora, including Actress Wunmi Ajiboye, Mrs. Folake Popoola, Hon. Hassan Owolabi, Mr. Kamal Okunola, Mrs. Oluyemisi Olarenwaju, Mrs. Bukola Omotayo, Westo Adekunle Adejumo and Mr. Abayomi Ajiboye, while His Royal Majesty, Oba Adio Maroof Alagbe (Arole Ogunmisi Alagbe I), the Elegushi of Egushi-Ota, Awori Kingdom, was also present.
