The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested four men over alleged armed robbery at Oke-Efon, a suburb of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The suspects identified as Muhammed Ibrahim, 35; Umukoro Godfrey, 24; Lawal Azeez, 29; and Ogunbiyi Junior, 20, were apprehended following a distress call received by the Bode Olude Division of the corps at about 3:30pm on Friday, August 28, 2026. The State Commander of the corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
Ganzallo said the Divisional Officer, CSC Ibrahim Tajudeen, immediately mobilised operatives to the scene after receiving information from members of the Oke-Efon community about an ongoing robbery. He said the operatives, upon arrival, met the victim, whose identity was withheld, with machete wounds along a bush path after allegedly being robbed.
According to the commander, the victim’s cries attracted passersby, while members of the community who had been informed that So-Safe operatives were on their way joined the security personnel in advancing on the area. Their combined efforts, he said, led to the arrest of the four suspects. A cutlass and N17,500 allegedly collected from the injured victim were recovered from the suspects.
Ganzallo commended members of the Oke-Efon community for their prompt response and cooperation, stressing the importance of timely information in combating crime. He added that the suspects and recovered exhibits had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adatan Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
