The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against Adetoun Onajobi, known online as @justadetoun, over cyberbullying and false accusations directed at the Ogun State Government. The charges are currently before the Abeokuta Division of the Federal High Court.
False Claims and Cyberbullying: Adetoun Onajobi, a social media influencer and internet blogger, is accused of using her online platforms to publish defamatory statements against the Ogun State Government and to harass the Governor in violation of the Cybercrimes Act.
On January 2nd, 2026, the Ogun State Police invited Onajobi for questioning regarding her online actions. However, instead of attending, she sent a letter through her lawyer claiming medical incapacity, attaching a report stating that she was unwell and unable to meet with the authorities.
Following discreet investigations, the Police discovered that the medical report was fabricated. A thorough investigation revealed that Onajobi had coordinated with a doctor to create the false report, which led to the arrest of the doctor involved.
The doctor, who admitted to creating the fraudulent report on Onajobi’s instructions, has been charged with conspiracy, falsification of documents, and obstructing justice. The case is now being handled in an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court.
Despite repeated attempts to reach Onajobi, including multiple police invitations, she has avoided contact, and her whereabouts remain unknown. The Ogun State Police Command is determined to locate her and bring her before the Court to face the charges.
The Ogun State Police remain committed to addressing all forms of crime, whether digital or otherwise, while ensuring the constitutional rights of all citizens are respected. However, the protection of free speech does not extend to unlawful activities, and the police will pursue all legal avenues to apprehend Onajobi and hold her accountable.
