The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has initiated a statewide electronic registration drive, aiming to expand its membership base, enhance internal unity, and position the party for future electoral successes. This step is part of a broader strategy to ensure the party’s continued dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who officially launched the e-registration process, described the initiative as a significant opportunity for both current members and potential supporters to deepen their involvement with the APC. He emphasized the party’s status as Africa’s largest and most successful political organization, calling it the "winning party" in the region.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, highlighted that the digital approach to registration would establish a credible, transparent, and modern membership database. He assured that this system would eliminate manipulation and fraud, ensuring a fairer, more efficient process that aligns with global standards for political party management.
In his address, the State Chairman of APC, Chief Yemi Sanusi, stressed that the registration was a unifying exercise aimed at strengthening the party’s collective power. He urged all members to focus on the broader goal of securing the party’s future leadership rather than seeking personal advantages from the process.
As the registration exercise rolls out across Ogun State’s 236 wards, Chief Sanusi assured party members that additional registration centers and operators would be deployed if needed to ensure inclusivity. The leadership, he said, was committed to making sure that every genuine APC supporter had the opportunity to register.
